Family and Social Events
The family is an important element in Catenianism and many of the Circle's events are designed so that wives, family and friends can participate. In order to provide a regular social programme for Catholic men and their families, with opportunities to develop positive social bonds that foster Christian values, in a relaxed and friendly atmosphere, the Circle hosts a Dinner Dance, regular ladies' nights (dinner), an annual retreat, a clergy night, a guest night, a Burns Night dinner and a Mass for deceased Brothers. Other Circle social activities include:- carol evenings, wine tasting, pub skittles, ladies lunches, country walks, an evening at the races, pub gatherings, theatre visits, golf, a Trivial Pursuits competition, an occasional guest speaker and visits to places of interest such as Kew Gardens and Stonor. There is usually ten-pin bowling and a trip to see a pantomime or show for our children or grandchildren arranged during the Christmas holiday period. In addition to all this our Province (No. 8) itself organises a number of events to encourage wider friendships within the Association. These include: inter-Circle quizzes, residential weekends, and golf tournaments. Something for everyone!
